Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY)

CDFI partnered with the Ministry of Women & Child Development (MoWCD) to design, develop, and implement a DBT-based system for PMMVY, India’s flagship maternity benefit program. The system ensures that pregnant and lactating women receive ₹5,000 in three instalments, directly in their bank accounts, for fulfilling key health and nutrition milestones. Beyond platform development, CDFI supported programme review, tech planning, and on-ground capacity building.

Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), launched on 31st December 2016 envisions to provide cash incentive amounting to ₹5,000 directly to the Bank/ Post Office Account of Pregnant Women and Lactating Mothers (PW&LM) during pregnancy and lactation period

140+ Billion Rupees Disbursed

₹5,000 were provided to each mother in three stages paid directly via bank transfers.

34.8 Million Mothers Supported

From rural districts to urban centres, the programme reached women across India’s geography.

Integrated with UMANG App

Scheme details are now available via UMANG, making access and tracking easier for all beneficiaries.
