Empowering SHGs to voice their development priorities through a nationwide digital platform

Village Poverty Reduction Plan (VPRP)

CDFI, in collaboration with the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), developed and launched a mobile and web-based VPRP application to enable data-driven and inclusive preparation of Village Poverty Reduction Plans. VPRP serves as a bottom-up planning process where Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and their federations project their demands for local area development, livelihood enhancement, and entitlement access. The enhanced digital version enables SHGs nationwide to prepare and submit their demands seamlessly, supported by state-level dashboards for monitoring and analysis.

Initial problem

Village Poverty Reduction Plan (VPRP)

CDFI designed and launched a digital system for the Village Poverty Reduction Plan (VPRP) to streamline data collection and aggregation from Self-Help Groups across India. The enhanced app captures entitlement demands and livelihood demands, enabling SHGs to feed data directly into the planning ecosystem. The integrated dashboard provides state monitoring teams with real-time insights into SHG participation and progress, fostering accountability and alignment with local development goals.

Nationwide SHG Participation

Used by SHGs in 26 states for entitlement data and 24 states for livelihood data, a true national rollout.
