CDFI continues to provide strategic advisory and research support to the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) under the Digidhan Mission, an initiative launched to make India a less-cash, digitally empowered economy. The mission focuses on building a secure, inclusive, and interoperable national digital payments ecosystem through awareness, adoption, and accessibility.

Under the Digidhan Mission, CDFI supports MeitY through a multi-dimensional approach that combines research, policy design, monitoring, and ecosystem development. The support includes designing and evaluating digital payment schemes, enabling infrastructure across ministries and states, and creating awareness programs to encourage adoption among citizens and merchants. CDFI’s expertise ensures that India’s digital payment journey remains secure, scalable, and inclusive.

Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), launched on 31st December 2016 envisions to provide cash incentive amounting to ₹5,000 directly to the Bank/ Post Office Account of Pregnant Women and Lactating Mothers (PW&LM) during pregnancy and lactation period
